Lesson Plan:
I can:
Define and explain the key vocabulary terms for Chapter 2.
Assignments:
After the news today, students will turn in their biomes from last week.  We will then record some notes for Chapter 2 in our notebook.  I will always begin a new unit with the important terms, people, dates, etc. and have students record that.  Over the next week or so we will dive deeper into the content.  The quiz on Friday will be based on the notes.  Anything we don't finish today, we will finish tomorrow.

Lesson Plan:

1. Define and explain the key vocabulary terms for Chapter 2
2. Identify the official state symbols
Assignments:
Today we will start with the news, I do want to remind students that they will turn in CNN 10 on Friday.  They will always turn it in one week before midquarter  or the end of the quarter.  After the news, we will finish any notes that need to be completed.   After that we will begin reading chapter 2.  As we read we will fill out a comprehension guide that will double as a study guide for the future test.

1. Describe oral history and how it can maintain a group's heritage and history
2. Explain NAGPRA and the impact the law had on museums and American Indians.
Assignments:
We will finish up reading and discussing chapter 2.

Lesson Plan:
I can:
1. Identify the official state symbols
Assignments:
After the news we will do a quick activity that has us looking at primary and secondary sources.  We will tie up some loose ends that include reading chapter 2. Then students will have time to investigate our state symbols.  I will post an article in  Google Classroom that explains what, when, and why the symbols were selected. They need to know what our state symbols are.  They will not be on the quiz this week, but on the test next Friday.

Lesson Plan:
I can:
1. Explain NAGPRA and the impact the law had on museums and American Indians.
Assignments:
Students will turn in CNN 10.  They will also get a copy of the review guide for the first test, which will be one week from today.  The quiz in on the vocabulary terms from Chapter 2 that they recorded in their notes on Monday and Tuesday.  We will talk about proper test preparation and then watch a short video about NAGPRA and look at a case that helped to usher in the law.
