Where Everybody Belongs (WEB) is a year-long peer mentoring program at Mahtomedi Middle School. The WEB program is one tool we use at our school to create an engaged, empowered, and empathetic community. We want all of our students to feel like they belong and are welcome. The WEB program creates a long-lasting impact on how students treat each other and the culture at our school.

WEB helps ease the transition to middle school for our sixth-grade students and helps them learn what it means to be a Zephyr and a member of the Mahtomedi Middle School community. The WEB programming includes sixth-grade orientation, academic and social-emotional skills mentoring, and social opportunities for fun to build trusting relationships at school. The WEB mentoring begins prior to the start of sixth grade at Mahtomedi Middle School.

WEB leaders are eighth-grade students at Mahtomedi Middle School who act as mentors to our sixth-grade students. WEB leaders are a cross-section of our student body who are passionate about leading and helping their peers. WEB Leaders represent every type of student at Mahtomedi Middle School, not just those who are already recognized as leaders. Student leaders are trained in the WEB program and use their experience to guide, mentor, and lead students throughout the year.

Our School

Mahtomedi Middle School provides programming to allow each student to find success academically, socially, and emotionally. Our curriculum provides students exploratory opportunities in a variety of curricular areas that provide career and college ready experiences: engineering, art, music, health, family and consumer science, phy-ed, and Spanish. Our experienced staff is focused on the social and emotional development of the early adolescent and provides small advisory groups and individual success coaching. Academic offerings include accelerated and honors courses in math, science, and language arts as well as support classes for those students who need extra attention in skill-building and time management. In addition to academic coursework, our students also have opportunities to engage and explore through our co-curricular offerings. Individual student attention is the strength of Mahtomedi Middle School.
