Donations for Washington D.C. Trip

Student Scholarship Donors Needed for Washington, D.C. Trip

Every year, Mahtomedi 8th-grade students have an opportunity to attend a trip to Washington, D.C. with some of our staff. It is a terrific four-day trip which includes airplanes, coach buses, and tour guides as the group sees many of the great sights. For example, students will see Arlington National Cemetery and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, the White House, the War Memorials, Ford’s Theater, and much more. This trip does cost approximately $1650. Last year we had more than 140 students attend and we are close to that number again this year.  However, we will have 8th-grade students who would like to attend but need financial assistance.

If you would like to donate money to help send a student(s) to D.C., please drop off or send a check to the middle school. We are working with the Middle School Parent Association in this endeavor, so checks should be made out to “MSPA”.

This trip is a great opportunity for students to be able to travel by plane, learn about our country’s history, and be able to further bond with classmates and staff.  For many that go, it is a highlight of their middle school years and will be something they will remember for a long time. Please call the Middle School office if you have any questions.
