Meet Michael Messingham, our groundsperson for Mahtomedi Public Schools.
Since joining the district last spring, Mr. Messingham has built a reputation for his can-do attitude, reliability, and care for every detail. From grooming ball fields and maintaining irrigation systems to keeping our parking lots, playgrounds, and facilities safe and ready for students, his work touches every part of our community.
Mr. Messingham supports daily operations throughout our district, including for Community Education and our partners who use district spaces. You may not always see Mr. Messingham in action, but you feel his impact every time you walk into a clean, well-prepared space, play on a freshly-mowed, recently-painted field, or arrive at school in the winter on roads and sidewalks cleared of snow.
When asked what motivates him, Mr. Messingham shared, “It’s all about the students. We want to make sure that their safety is the number one priority.”
Our Director of Facilities, Adam Gemuenden, shared, “Since Michael has started here at the district, he has been awesome. Michael always shows up to work on time, day in and day out, with one of the biggest smiles a person can have. Michael is always willing to help any department out, even if it's not in his area.”
